Since my last update, our team on the ground in the Blue Country has built more trust with some of the Afghan believers who made it to their country. This is a huge opportunity for us to empower local believers to demonstrate love to our Afghan brothers and sisters.

According to the 2021 World Watch List published by Open Doors*, Afghanistan is ranked as the #2 country where it is most difficult to be a Christian. As the Taliban takes over the whole country, sadly, there is a high likelihood that more persecution will come to our Afghan brothers and sisters.

Because of the house churches in the neighboring country, the Blue Country, we are blessed with the opportunity to help seven Afghan Christian families — 37 individuals total counting husbands, wives, and children.

A week ago, I asked you to pray and provide funds that have helped to position our team in the city bordering Afghanistan to learn more and monitor the situation. Our team has been there, and due to your generosity, we were able to make contact with these brothers and sisters from Afghanistan.

Furthermore, your gifts and donations exceeded what we had initially requested. I want to be highly accountable and transparent with the Kingdom funds you are stewarding in our hands. We have raised $18,000 more than we asked for, and we will be able to send these funds to help care for these seven families.

Even though $18,000 is a lot of money, it is not enough for this next phase. Our team has asked us for a total of $33,600 to help these seven families in the next four months (from September - December 2021).

These funds will be allocated in the following way:

• Housing

• Food

• Clothing

• Medical help

• Children's school

Would you please consider giving some funding to help cover $15,600 to this emergency fund?

If so, please click here to give online or mail a check payable to Crossover Global, memo Refugee SOS

By God's grace and your generosity, we will be able to empower the local house churches in order for them to love and care for our Afghan brothers and sisters.

I pray that I am wrong, but I believe this is just the beginning. The situation is likely to get worse, and we should be praying and ready to serve the Afghan people in the months to come.

Stay tuned,
